The Kno. Dual 14.1-inch capacitive IPS displays (1440x900 each) with both pen and touch input. Tegra 2, 16GB of built-in storage. It weighs a whopping 5.5 pounds and will last you about six to eight hours on a full charge. It’s aimed at college students because it will have textbooks from publishers and allow you to do a lot. Write notes directly “on” the textbook, directly click a link in the textbook, immediately watch a video embedded in the textbook, etc. And of course, it has a web browser (Flash and HTML5 support included), calendar, etc. It’ll support third-party apps, but they seem to be geared toward education (which is understandable, given the target market).
Am I thrilled? Kind of. It’s ridiculous size and weight disappoint me, but the idea is great. It’s like the Courier, but with a larger physical size and not-as-cool software. I don’t carry around a lot of textbooks, but I’m sure students that carry their notebook and a bunch of textbooks would appreciate this a lot.
Expected price? Under $1,000. When? By the end of the year.
